However, he believed Harry Potter about You-Know-Who’s return, and his family has always stood firm behind Albus Dumbledore. Ernie took Muggle Studies as an elective. He attended the Quidditch World Cup in ’94. Ernie would study 8-10 hours in preparation of his O.W.L. exams, which were good enough to get him into N.E.W.T. level Potions and DADA. He was a D.A. member.

Inquisitorial Squad

Draco Malfoy is the son of proud parents Lucius and Narcissa. He takes after his parents in doing their duty to put down all who are poor, virtuous and have questionable lineage. Draco loves to make snide comments and sneer at those he does not like. He has especial hatred for Harry “Scarface” Potter, Hermione “Mudblood” Granger and Ron “Weasel” Weasley for various reasons. Not that he spends much of his time bothering with them—they’re much too beneath him for that. Draco surrounds himself with more suitable company, like Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle, and Pansy Parkinson to simper over him, of course.

Athletic and brilliant, Draco is the star of the Quidditch team and top of his year (at least, out of the ones who count). It’s just that sometimes those lowlifes still allowed in school for some reason beat him by cheating and favoritism. No matter, Draco knows what the important things in life are. He was eager to help the heir of Slytherin purify the school through the Chamber of Secrets, until he found out it was a blood traitor weaselette. He was well liked by the High Inquisitor during her brief term at Hogwarts; she relied heavily on him to perform important duties. When that fame hog Potter had the audacity to land his father in prison, it was up to Draco to uphold the family name. He would serve the Dark Lord proudly and faultlessly. He became a Death Eater at just 16 years old and was entrusted with a most important mission: kill Albus Dumbledore. Draco had always detested Dumbledore’s stance on Mudbloods, so he was determined not to disappoint his master. His Aunt Bellatrix even taught him Occlumency. There were several missteps, and a fight with Potter left him slashed, but he recovered. Though Draco knew he was clever enough to get it done, it took him the entire school year. He repaired the Vanishing Cabinet at Hogwarts allowing other Death Eaters into the school to help dispatch Dumbledore. The Mudblood herself had unknowingly assisted him with ideas. Despite Draco’s swagger, the work took its toll on him, and by the end, he wasn’t quite sure he could commit murder with his own hands. Fulfilling the Unbreakable Vow he made to Draco’s mother, Severus Snape finished the task by killing Dumbledore. Draco fled the castle, but may still face the wrath of the Dark Lord for failing to do the job.

Malfoy, Lucius Malfoy, Lucius
Born:1953 or 1954
Appearance:Pale, pointed face
White-blonde hair
Cold, gray eyes

Lucius Malfoy is a very shrewd businessman. He knows how to pull the right strings and pad the right pockets to get what he wants done. He makes connections and contributions in the Ministry of Magic to get favors and delay laws he doesn’t want passed. He’ll make donations to St. Mungo’s to show his goodwill. He strategically positioned himself as a school governor of Hogwarts, so he could have some clout there, too. To the public, he is a generous, distinguished wizard from an old family.

In the privacy of his own home, Lucius is a subscriber to the Dark Arts and a top Death Eater. He believes that blood tells you everything you need to know about a person. Pure-bloods are the only respectable ones, Mudbloods are filth and Muggles don’t deserve to live. So it is not a surprise that he is a loyal follower of the Dark Lord, who permitted the sport of Muggle-torture. However, when his master disappeared, seemingly for good, Lucius did what any smart opportunist would do, he claimed innocence. What good would suffering consequences do if there was no reward? So Lucius pretended he never went down the Dark Side and returned to the world of political manipulation.

In 1992, Lucius put into operation a remnant of the Dark Lord’s belongings, a diary from his days at Hogwarts. He slipped it into the hands of an unsuspecting 11 year old girl, Ginny Weasley, and sat back to watch as havoc unfolded when the Chamber of Secrets opened at Hogwarts once more. The plan disappointingly backfired when the meddlesome Harry Potter destroyed the diary. Lucius and some of his old Death Eater buddies got drunk and celebrated old times with some good Muggle-torture at the ’94 Quidditch World Cup. They were shocked when the Dark Mark appeared in the sky. After that, it was only a matter of time; in June, Lucius felt the familiar burning on his left arm that told him to rejoin his master. He spent the next year working on the Dark Lord’s undertaking to retrieve a prophecy from the Department of Mysteries. Lucius tried using the Imperius Curse on a Department worker, Broderick Bode, but he was unable to take it. Finally, they had to lure the Potter boy to the Ministry and trick him into grabbing it for them. Sadly, the Death Eaters were overmatched having to deal with not only Potter and his little friends, but with interfering members of the Order of the Phoenix and eventually Albus Dumbledore himself. Lucius was captured and thrown into Azkaban to the extreme displeasure of the Dark Lord for his failure.

Malfoy, Narcissa (Black) "Cissy" Malfoy, Narcissa (Black) "Cissy"
Appearance:Blonde, tall and slim
Would be nice looking if she were not wearing a look that suggested there was a nasty smell under her nose

Narcissa is a descendent of the Black line along with her sisters, Bellatrix and Andromeda. Unlike Andromeda, Narcissa married a respectable, wealthy, pure-blood wizard, Lucius Malfoy. Being from the noble and ancient house of Black, she holds most of the same values as her husband. However, for Narcissa, her family is more important to her than the Dark Lord’s plans. Lucius, being in the inner circle of Death Eaters, was caught and imprisoned in ’96, leaving her to deal with the repercussions of being exposed as a Dark supporter. After losing her husband, she was horrified when she learned the Dark Lord intended to put her only son, Draco, on a dangerous assignment. Narcissa knew it was a punishment for Lucius’s slip-up and that he would not care if Draco died in the process. So she risked the wrath of the Dark Lord by going to another Death Eater she trusted, Severus Snape, to ask him to protect her son. Snape promised her he would with an Unbreakable Vow.

She was a Wizengamot elder, but she remained loyal to Dumbledore and resigned in protest of the introduction of the Hogwarts High Inquisitor. Though she would not admit it at first, Madame Maxime is a half-giant. She went to Hogwarts for the Triwizard Tournament in 1994. There she met another half-giant, Rubeus Hagrid, and they hit it off. When Lord Voldemort returned to power, she went with Hagrid to request the support of the giants.

McDonald, Natalie McDonald, Natalie

McGonagall, Minerva McGonagall, Minerva
Born:October 4

Minerva McGonagall is rather severe looking witch with black hair drawn into a tight bun. Being an Animagi, she can transform into a tabby cat. She can be recognized by the markings around her eyes that match her square glasses. She was hired as the Transfiguration professor in December of 1956. Since then, she has also become the Deputy Headmistress, and she is the Head of Gryffindor house. As a professor, she is strict and clever and smiles rarely. In fact, her lips get very thin when she is irritated. She also has dark eyebrows that, when contracted, make her look like a hawk and a bony nose. Though stern, McGonagall is fair and, at times, even sympathetic. She has a tin of ginger newts in her office that she’ll force students to eat. She is an avid Quidditch fan.

McGonagall is a member of the Order of the Phoenix. When Hagrid was attacked by Aurors, she tried to stop them and got hit by at least four stunners in the process. She had to be transferred to St. Mungo’s to recover. After returning for the end of the school year, she had to use a walking stick but was otherwise still the same as before. McGonagall and some of the Order tried to fend off Death Eaters when they ambushed Hogwarts in ’97. Tragically, they could not prevent the murder of Albus Dumbledore. As Deputy Headmistress, McGonagall took over the duties of running the school.

McLaggen, Cormac "King Slug" McLaggen, Cormac "King Slug"
Cormac McLaggen is a large Gryffindor in the class of ’97. The wiry-haired McLaggen has an aggressive and belligerent personality. He missed Quidditch tryouts in ’95 when he was stuck in the hospital wing after eating a pound of doxy eggs on a bet. He was able to tryout in ’96, but lost the Keeper position when he blocked only 4 of 5 goals. On the last one, he flew in the entirely wrong direction; he was Confunded at how that could possibly have happened. His failure to make the team infuriated him, and he accused the Captain, Harry Potter, of favoring his friends.

Luckily for him, the appointed Keeper, Ron Weasley, missed the second Quidditch match of the season after being poisoned. McLaggen naturally took his place and decided to give the rest of the team, including the Captain, pointers on how to improve their play. He obsessed over strategies and instructions throughout the week, well into the actual match. He spent so much time criticizing the others that he managed to not save any goals. Believing he could play every position better himself, he took the bat from Jimmy Peakes and proceeded to whack a bludger at his Captain. Due to their Seeker having a cracked skull, the team lost the match. Suffice it to say, McLaggen did not play in any more matches.

McLaggen’s social life fared slightly better in his last year at Hogwarts. It certainly did not hurt that he had some prominent connections. His Uncle Tiberius has taken him nogtail hunting with Bertie Higgs and Rufus Scrimgeour (Minister of Magic). This gained him entrance into the Slug Club, which garnered invitations to several parties thrown by Professor Slughorn. He attended the Christmas party with fellow Gryffindor Hermione Granger. McLaggen thought they had a good time together, until she mysteriously disappeared. Who wouldn’t want to hear him talk about Quidditch?

Moaning Myrtle Moaning Myrtle
Moaning Myrtle is a squat ghost of a girl. She has a glum face, half-hidden behind lank hair and thick, pearly spectacles. She is a very negative and morbid girl, even for a ghost. When she was a student at Hogwarts, she went to hide in the bathroom one day because another girl, Olive Hornby, had made fun of her glasses. She heard a boy’s voice and then the last thing she remembered seeing were large yellow eyes. The boy had been Tom Riddle, and he opened the Chamber of Secrets to unleash the basilisk within. The stare of the basilisk took Myrtle’s life (she may have been a Muggle-born). After she was killed, it took several hours for her to be found by Olive Hornby, and that was only because Headmaster Dippet asked her to look. Myrtle stalked/haunted Olive until the Ministry of Magic made her stop. She even showed up at Olive’s brother’s wedding. After that, Myrtle settled into the girls’ bathroom at Hogwarts. She spends most of her time in the U bend of the end toilet. She frequently throws tantrums by flooding the bathroom, which is why that particular bathroom is rarely used. On occasion she will venture to other water connected parts of the school, especially if it involved certain boys. She always hopes Harry Potter would die so he could spend his afterlife with her. More recently, she has taken a liking to Draco Malfoy.

Moody, Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody, Alastor "Mad-Eye"
Mad-Eye Moody is an ex-Auror who took his job very seriously. By the time he retired, his face looked like badly carved wood and every inch of it was scarred. His mouth looks like a diagonal gash and a large chunk of his nose is missing (from taking down Death Eater Evan Rosier). One eye is small, dark and beady; the other is an artificial magical eye: large, round as a coin, vivid electric blue. It moves incessantly without blinking in every direction (it can see through anything, including invisibility cloaks), which is how he got the nickname “Mad-Eye.” He has a carved wooden leg that has a clawed foot at the bottom. He leans on a long staff to help him walk. He has a long mane of grizzled, dark gray hair. Mad-Eye is very paranoid of enemies coming after him, so he only drinks out of a hip flask. Most people think he is crazy, but he is good friends with Albus Dumbledore and Arthur Weasley. Birds of a feather flock together.

In the years after Voldemort’s first downfall, Mad-Eye was determined to track down every last Death Eater. He never killed if he could help it; he would bring them in alive if possible so they could stand trial. Defense Against the Dark Arts is not a game for him. He spent 6 months tracking down and capturing Igor Karkaroff. He still had both of his eyes then. In 1994, Dumbledore asked Mad-Eye to be the DADA professor. The night before he was set to start, however, Mad-Eye was attacked by Bartemius Crouch, Jr. and Peter Pettigrew. Crouch used Polyjuice Potion to impersonate Mad-Eye and take his station at Hogwarts. Mad-Eye was hidden inside his own trunk; it is a 7-compartment trunk, the last compartment consists of a sort of underground room. He spent ten entire months stunned.

Mad-Eye was an original member of the Order of the Phoenix. He went back to the Order after being rescued from his trunk. He was part of the Advanced Guard to transport Harry Potter from his Muggle relatives’ home to Order headquarters. After cleaning his magical eye and advising Harry on wand placement, he led the Guard on a crazy route to headquarters in case anyone was trying to follow. Mad-Eye tried to lift Harry’s spirits by showing him a photo of his dead parents sitting next to the traitor Pettigrew. In June of ’96, he and some other Order members had to go to the Ministry of Magic to rescue Harry and his friends from a Death Eater trap. At the end of the school year, they had a talk with Harry’s Muggle relatives to make sure they would not mistreat him.
