Weasley, Arthur Weasley, Arthur
House:Gryffindor
Born:February 6, 19??
Appearance:A tall, thin man, going bald, but the little hair he had was red.
Wears horn-rimmed glasses

Arthur Weasley has a fascination with all things Muggle. If he were allowed to, he would spend all his time tinkering with the charming objects that Muggles come up with because they don’t have magic. So it is natural that this fondness would lead Arthur to work at the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts office at the Ministry of Magic. He loves his work so much that he doesn’t really have the inclination to get a promotion, not caring much about prestige and wealth. Though he did win 700 Galleons from the annual Daily Prophet Draw in 1993. However, with the Ministry scrambling to deal with the war at their hands, Arthur was advanced to head the new Office for the Detection and Confiscation of Counterfeit Defensive Spells and Protective Objects in ’96.

Arthur is one of three brothers. He wed his Hogwarts sweetheart, Molly (Prewett), sometime during Voldemort’s initial reign. Once while at Hogwarts, Arthur got caught out of bed in the middle of the night (for a nighttime stroll with Molly) by the caretaker and has still got the marks to show for it. After getting married, they welcomed the births of six sons and one daughter. Arthur is the less strict of the two parents, though not any less anxious about his children’s welfare. He became a valuable member of the Order of the Phoenix as a Ministry insider. Arthur’s dearest ambition is to find out how airplanes stay up.

Weasley, Bill Weasley, Bill
House:Gryffindor
Born:November 29, 1965? 1970?
Appearance:Long red hair in ponytail.
Tall. Cool.
Fang earring. Dragon hide boots.

Bill Weasley is the oldest of Arthur and Molly’s children. Not only was he good looking and trendy but an excellent student as well. This Head Boy received 12 O.W.L.s. Always after adventure and glamour, he became a Curse Breaker for Gringotts’ Egypt branch. He came back home for the Quidditch World Cup and to watch Harry in the Tri-Wizard Tournament in 1994. Once it was known that Voldemort had returned, he applied for a desk job so he could stay in England and help the Order of the Phoenix. As an employee of Gringotts, Bill was able to keep in touch with the goblins about taking sides in the war. During the battle at Hogwarts in 1997, Bill was mauled by Fenrir Greyback, a werewolf (though in human form at the time). The scars on his face are cursed and will likely never fade. He is engaged to Fleur Delacour, and they are expected to wed in the summer of ’97.

Weasley, Charlie Weasley, Charlie
House:Gryffindor
Born:December 12, 1967? 1972?
Appearance:Short and stocky. A broad, good-natured face, which was weather beaten and so freckly that he looked almost tan. Muscular arms.

Charlie Weasley is the second son of Arthur and Molly. Even though he was a prefect, he had to take his Apparition test twice when he apparated 5 miles south of where he meant to go. Charlie was a Seeker and Quidditch captain. One of the greatest Gryffindor had, Charlie could have played for England if he had wanted to. However, Charlie loved animals and went off to Romania to work with dragons. Living so far away from his family has made him independent; he even darns his own fireproof balaclava. When Voldemort returned to power, Charlie joined the Order of the Phoenix and contributed by making foreign contacts on his off days.

Weasley, Fred Weasley, Fred
House:Gryffindor
Born:April 1, 1978
Appearance:Shorter and stockier than Ron
Freckles
Red hair
Hobbies:Quidditch (beater: ?-95)
Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes (joke shop)
Mischief/Pranks/Practical Jokes
Prized Possession(s):Marauder's Map (until his 5th year)
Broom – Cleansweep 5
Dragon skin wardrobe

Fred Weasley and his twin brother, George, were born, appropriately enough, on April Fool’s day to Arthur and Molly. The twins are pranksters to the core, always looking for a laugh. These irrepressible troublemakers are the bane of Hogwarts caretaker Filch’s existence. In their very first year, they filched the Marauder’s Map from his office, through which they learned all the secret passages of Hogwarts. In their fifth year, they bequeathed the map to Harry Potter, having already memorized it. The two are nearly always together, both playing Beater for their Quidditch team.

Though they appear to only fool around, Fred and George are really quite clever. They don’t care much about school other than what can help them invent joke products. After earning only 3 O.W.L.s apiece, they put their full efforts into developing items to start their own joke shop. These (and the eventual shop) were called Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes. The twins must have a solid grasp of magic to be able to create many of their innovations. They also have a surprising aptitude for business, using their last two years at Hogwarts to test their products among students and build up a market. The twins left their seventh year early with many a bang that will long be the stuff of Hogwarts legend.

Harry had given the twins 1000 pounds to help start up their shop. This was enough for them to acquire a place in Diagon Alley and open up shop right away. Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes was an instant success, carrying a wide range of products. In addition to the prank items, the twins expanded with a more serious Defense Against the Dark Arts line. They have been looking into acquiring Zonko’s as a Hogsmeade branch.

    Books with strange writing

Ginny Weasley is the seventh and youngest child of Arthur and Molly Weasley. She is also the first girl to be born into the Weasley family for several generations. As such, Ginny often feels that her family is overprotective of her and treats her like a child. Since her brothers never let her play with them, she has had to break into the broom shed from the age of 6 in order to practice flying. Being the youngest, Ginny was upset about being left alone when the rest of her brothers went off to school. When she was 10, she and her family ran into the Boy Who Lived (Harry Potter), who immediately roused her interest. Ginny developed a huge crush on Harry over the following years, unable to act normally while in the same room with him.

Going away to school for the first time is never easy, but it seemed like Ginny was destined to have a particularly horrible year. Lucius Malfoy snuck the old diary of Tom Riddle (Voldemort) into one of Ginny’s schoolbooks. With her brothers paying her little attention, Ginny dispelled her loneliness by writing in the diary, which she soon found could write back to her. What she did not know, however, was that little by little the memory of Riddle possessed her and caused her to unleash a monster upon the school. Eventually, Ginny suspected what was happening and tried to get rid of the diary, but it ended up in Harry’s hands, which was even worse. Finally, Riddle had possessed her enough that he was able to come out of the diary in a corporeal form and lure Harry down into the Chamber of Secrets. Luckily, Harry was able to defeat both Riddle and the monster to save Ginny’s life. Ginny has had to deal with the guilt and distrust ever since.

For a nice change, Ginny spent the next couple of years quietly and normally. She still admired Harry from afar and was disappointed when she couldn’t go to the Yule Ball with him as she’d already promised to go with Neville Longbottom. It was at the ball, however, that Ginny finally realized that she needed to stop pining over Harry, hero though he was. She met Ravenclaw Michael Corner, whom she went out with for around a year. It was at this point that Ginny was able be herself around Harry and, consequently, actually get to know him and vice versa.

Ginny came into her own in her fourth year. She took over the Seeker position on the Quidditch team when Harry couldn’t play and helped Gryffindor win the Cup once again. She was also one of the students who went with Harry on the fateful trip to the Department of Mysteries, during which she broke her ankle and took a stunner to the face. Still, Ginny showed that she could hold her own and was not one to back down from a fight.

The year after that, Ginny shifted over to Chaser with Harry back on the team. She excelled at the position, but reverted to Seeker for the final game when Harry was out. Again, Ginny helped bring the Quidditch Cup to Gryffindor. She had been going out with Dean Thomas for much of the year, but by the end, Harry had finally come to his senses. Harry and Ginny spent a happy few weeks together before the war with Voldemort interrupted them.

Weasley, Molly (Prewett) Weasley, Molly (Prewett)
    House:Gryffindor
    Born:October 30, 19??
    Appearance:Short, plump, kind-faced woman. Dumpy.
Fear(s):The death of her family + Harry

Before she was Molly Weasley, she was Molly Prewett. She was presumably related to Fabian and Gideon Prewett (exact relation unknown); both were murdered during the first war. With that history, it is not surprising how much she worries about her family in such dangerous times. As a mother of seven children, she puts the ‘molly’ in mollycoddle. She is unrelenting in her effort to make sure everyone is well fed, of which she is never satisfied. Molly can be overbearing at times and quite scary when she yells, but it is only because she cares so much.

Molly got together with Arthur Weasley while at Hogwarts. She claims she made a love potion and once got caught wandering the castle with him at four in the morning. They got married around the time that Voldemort was gaining power. Since raising her seven active offspring, she has joined the Order of the Phoenix along with her husband and older sons. Her eldest son is engaged to Fleur Delacour, whom Molly did not think much of initially. Though horrified when a werewolf mauled Bill, the event did alleviate her fears about Fleur’s earnestness.

    Prefect
    Head Boy
Occupation:Book 4: Dept. International Magical Cooperation Assistant
Book 5: Junior Assistant to the Minister

Percy Weasley is the third son of Arthur and Molly Weasley. Percy has always been different from his brothers and sister. Though his siblings are bright, they don’t put academics above all else. Percy prides himself on being serious and studious. He took his Prefect and Head Boy responsibilities very earnestly. He was often rewarded for his excellence with such things as new robes, his own owl, etc. Percy’s solemn nature and tendency to think higher of himself than others instigated some teasing from his siblings. In his sixth year, Percy began going out with Penelope Clearwater, a Ravenclaw Prefect a year behind him. He had a distressing year when she was petrified, and then his sister, Ginny, went through a life threatening ordeal.

After graduating from Hogwarts, Percy promptly got a job at the Ministry of Magic as a department of International Magical Cooperation assistant. His work was more important to him than anything else, and he was determined to work his way up in the Ministry quickly. After only a year, Percy was promoted to Junior Assistant to the Minister, a fact which made him immensely proud. Such an important position requires, he firmly believed, that he completely support anything the Minister asserts. This caused a falling-out with his family, and he has been estranged from them the last two years. He had always felt alienated from his siblings as a child, and now he really is as none of them are ready to forgive him for what they see as a betrayal. The rift breaks his mother’s heart, but Percy stubbornly refuses to change his stance, even when proven wrong. He was forced to visit his family for Christmas in ’96 so the Minister of Magic could sneak a chat with Harry Potter.

Ron Weasley is the last son born to Arthur and Molly Weasley. He has 5 older brothers and 1 younger sister. As the youngest son, Ron always feels as if it is impossible to live up to his older brothers’ achievements. He is also quite sensitive about his family’s modest resources. When he became best friends with the famous Harry Potter, he was thrust more than ever to the edge of the limelight. Ron does not have a lot of self-confidence, but he is extremely loyal to his friends. He is fiery, quick tempered and has an insatiable appetite.

Though he doesn’t get much credit for it, Ron plays an important role by helping Harry undertake his adventures and, more importantly, by being his friend. He introduced Harry to many of the more fun aspects of the Wizarding world. Ron’s relationship with Hermione Granger, his other best friend, was rocky from the start. He routinely alternates between making her cry and dashing to her defense. Ron also has a talent for strategy; in his first year at Hogwarts, Ron was able to win a giant chess game orchestrated by Professor McGonagall.

The next summer, Ron and his brothers, Fred & George, took their father’s flying car across the country to rescue Harry from his relatives. He and Harry later flew the car all the way to Hogwarts after missing the train. During the crash landing, Ron broke his wand, a hand-me-down from brother Charlie, leading to a year of backfired spells. It was just the beginning of a grim year. When Hermione was petrified, Ron faced his biggest fear by coming face to face with acromantulas (giant spiders) in hopes of helping his friend. Additionally, Ginny, Ron’s sister, was possessed and taken down into the Chamber of Secrets, feared to be dead. He went down there with Harry, but he was stuck at the entrance while Harry saved the day. Still, he received a Special Award for Services to the School for it.

Afterwards, Ron’s family won the Daily Prophet Grand Prize Galleon Draw and celebrated by going to visit his eldest brother, Bill, in Egypt. Ron had inherited his older brother Percy’s pet rat, Scabbers, who had been with the family for twelve years. When Ron thought Hermione’s cat had eaten the rat, he was furious and refused to forgive her. Unknown to Ron, Scabbers was really a wizard named Peter Pettigrew in Animagus form. Pettigrew had betrayed Harry’s parents and framed Sirius Black for it. Set on revenge, Black went after Scabbers and broke Ron’s leg in the process. Ron was disgusted when he realized he had been harboring a Death Eater as his pet. Black apologized for injuring Ron by giving him a pet owl, Pigwidgeon.

The following August was an exciting time for Ron, because the Quidditch World Cup was coming to England. He was in awe of the famous Bulgarian seeker, Viktor Krum. That is, however, until Krum became a Tri-Wizard Champion and asked Hermione to go to the Yule Ball, at which point Krum turned into a grouchy git. Ron was also disgruntled with Harry getting yet more attention as a Champion. He got some glory when he was a hostage for the 2nd task; otherwise, it was not Ron’s most enjoyable year. The year ended on a note of unease with the return of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, though Ron did score Krum’s autograph.

As a result of the dangerous times, the Weasley family spent the summer at the headquarters for the Order of the Phoenix. Ron was stunned along with everyone else when he received his Prefect’s badge. He was even more ecstatic when his parents bought him a new broomstick as a reward. Though pleased with his appointment, Ron was less enthusiastic at the prospect of having to enforce rules. He achieved one of his fantasies when he made the Gryffindor Quidditch team as Keeper. Though his lack of confidence caused him to play horribly at first, Ron had a spectacular last game to help Gryffindor win the Quidditch cup. While accompanying Harry on the Department of Mysteries excursion, Ron suffered an unknown curse and an attack by tentacled brains.

Year six was much of the same for Ron in terms of Quidditch and school. One major development, however, was when he got together with Lavender Brown. Put out over the fact that he was the only one who hadn’t gone out with anyone yet, he was delighted by Lavender’s interest in him. This caused a rift between Hermione and him that wasn’t mended until he almost died from a mistaken poisoning. To Ron’s relief, his relationship with Lavender did not last, and he was able to finally realize what he truly wanted. He and Hermione mourned the loss of Albus Dumbledore together.

Unfortunately, Barty escaped and summoned the Dark Mark on Winky’s watch. She was caught holding the wand that had cast it. Crouch, trying to distance himself from the Dark Arts (and suspicions of his son) released Winky by giving her clothes. Winky, being a typical house-elf, was distraught about being freed and separated from her family. She ended up getting a job at Hogwarts with her cousin Dobby. However, she spent most of her first year getting intoxicated with Butterbeers and crying into her filthy clothes. Wood, Oliver Wood, Oliver
Oliver Wood is a tall and burly Gryffindor, class of ’94. He is utterly fanatical about Quidditch. He plays Keeper and had the honor of being the captain of the team that had the youngest (and arguably greatest) seeker in Hogwarts history, Harry Potter. Harry was the answer to Oliver’s prayers, and he was determined to win a Quidditch Cup for Gryffindor before he left school. Unfortunate events kept them from winning in Harry’s first two years, so by Oliver’s final year at Hogwarts, he was desperate. He worked his team as hard as they would go. Oliver is so passionate about Quidditch, that he uttered the famous words: “Get to that Snitch…or die trying, Harry” (II.167). When they finally won the Cup, Oliver hugged Harry and sobbed unrestrainedly on his shoulder. After leaving Hogwarts, Oliver naturally went on to play professional Quidditch on the Puddlemere United Reserve Team.
